What is perfumoto® and how does it differ from a normal car air freshener?
perfumoto® is a smart fragrance system for the vehicle interior. Unlike a classic scent tree or car air freshener, the fragrance is not released permanently and uncontrolled.
The fragrance liquid is atomised into ultra-fine droplets in the device and then distributed evenly throughout the interior via the vehicle ventilation. You can conveniently regulate the intensity via the perfumoto® app. With the Tri version you can also switch between three different fragrances.
How does the fragrance get from the device into the vehicle interior?
The fragrance liquid is atomised into ultra-fine droplets in the perfumoto® device. The fragrance is then led through a thin supply line into the vehicle's ventilation duct.
As soon as the vehicle's own ventilation fan is running, the fragrance is carried with the airflow through the vents into the vehicle interior.
Is perfumoto® connected directly to the vehicle ventilation?
Yes. A thin hose is routed from the perfumoto® device to one or more vent ducts.
For the connection, a suitable opening is made in the ventilation duct with the small drill bit supplied. A precisely fitting rubber grommet then holds the supply line and ensures a clean connection.
Which vehicles is the perfumoto® fragrance system suitable for?
perfumoto® is suitable for almost all vehicles that have a ventilation system and enough space for the device. These include small cars, saloons, SUVs, electric cars, vans, trucks and campers.
In many vehicles the glove box is a suitable installation location. It is important that the device can be positioned as horizontally as possible. In addition, the hose between the device and the ventilation duct should be as short as possible so that the fragrance is perceived particularly quickly and intensely.
How is perfumoto® powered?
The power supply is ideally via 12 volt DC ignition positive. This means the system is switched on and off together with the ignition or the vehicle.
As the fragrance is distributed via the vehicle's own ventilation fan, fragrance distribution only works when the vehicle ventilation is switched on.
Does perfumoto® switch on automatically when the vehicle is started?
When connected to ignition positive, perfumoto® is automatically supplied with power together with the vehicle. The system resumes the last saved operating state.
If the device was activated when the ignition was switched off, it starts again with the last selected setting the next time it is switched on. If it was switched off, it stays off at the next vehicle start.
Which functions can be controlled via the perfumoto® app?
Via the app you can:
- switch the fragrance system on and off,
- regulate the fragrance intensity and
- switch between three fragrances with perfumoto® Tri.
What is the difference between perfumoto® Single and perfumoto® Tri?
Both versions offer the same basic functions and are controlled via the perfumoto® app.
perfumoto® Single uses one fragrance bottle with 10 ml content. With perfumoto® Tri, three bottles of 6.5 ml each can be inserted at the same time. This lets you switch between three fragrances via the app without having to replace a bottle each time.
Can several fragrances be used or mixed at the same time with perfumoto® Tri?
No. With the Tri version only one of the three inserted fragrances is ever active. You can select the desired fragrance via the app at any time. Simultaneous release or mixing of several fragrances is not intended.
How long does a perfumoto® fragrance bottle last?
The running time depends on the selected fragrance intensity, the daily driving time and how often the vehicle is used.
- perfumoto® Tri with 6.5 ml: approximately 15.5 to 44 operating hours
- perfumoto® Single with 10 ml: approximately 24 to 67 operating hours
At low intensity a bottle lasts correspondingly longer than at a permanently high fragrance level.
How much fragrance liquid do the bottles contain?
A bottle for perfumoto® Single contains 10 ml of fragrance liquid. The smaller bottles of the Tri version each contain 6.5 ml. Three of these bottles can be inserted in perfumoto® Tri at the same time.
Can I change a fragrance bottle myself?
Yes. The bottles can be changed easily at any time without tools. As they are made of transparent glass, you can see the remaining fill level directly.
Can I refill the fragrance bottles?
Yes. Empty bottles can be refilled with our original perfumoto® fragrances.
We expressly advise against your own fragrance mixtures, third-party perfumes, fragrance oils or other liquids. The fragrance carrier used and the consistency of the liquid are decisive for the reliable, long-term function of the device.
Non-approved liquids can impair the lines, pump or atomiser unit and cause damage. Damage demonstrably caused by the use of unsuitable liquids is excluded from warranty and guarantee claims.
Can a layperson install it?
Yes. Installation is also possible for technically interested laypeople. We recommend watching the complete installation video before installation and carefully following the individual steps.
The device should be installed as horizontally as possible, connected to the ventilation duct and ideally connected to 12 volt ignition positive.
Which smartphones are supported and does the app need an internet connection?
The perfumoto® app is available for iOS and Android. The connection between smartphone and fragrance system is via Bluetooth.
An internet connection is required to open and set up the app for the first time. You don't need to create a user account. After purchase, access is activated via our database.
After successful setup you can control the system without an internet connection. All you need is Bluetooth activated on your smartphone.
Is fragrance consumed when the vehicle is parked?
No. Fragrance is only actively released when the system is switched on. When the device is switched off, there is no active atomisation.
Can a perfumoto® fragrance bottle leak?
The bottles are designed for use in vehicles and safe operation. For proper function, the device must be mounted as horizontally as possible in accordance with the installation instructions.
Are perfumoto® fragrances safe for health?
Our fragrances comply with the European requirements applicable to the product. Thanks to the adjustable intensity, you can also adapt the fragrance release to your personal perception.
People with known allergies or a particular sensitivity to fragrances should observe the respective product and ingredient information before use.
Does perfumoto® neutralise unpleasant odours?
perfumoto® does not contain any special active ingredients for neutralising unpleasant odours. However, thanks to the targeted release of fragrance, unpleasant odours may be perceived less clearly when the system is activated.
The cause of unpleasant odours should nevertheless be eliminated and the vehicle interior cleaned regularly.
How can I tell that a fragrance bottle is empty?
If no fragrance can be perceived despite the system being switched on and the vehicle ventilation running, you should check the fill level. As the bottles are made of transparent glass, you can immediately see whether there is still fragrance liquid inside.
Do all perfumoto® fragrances last the same length of time?
No. The perceived duration of the fragrance can vary depending on the fragrance composition. Heavy or woody fragrances are often perceived for longer than particularly fresh or citrusy variants.
In addition, the intensity set, the driving time and the frequency of use influence how long a bottle lasts.
Does the perfumoto® fragrance system need to be serviced or cleaned?
Regular maintenance is not required when used as intended. You only need to change the bottle or refill it with an original perfumoto® fragrance as soon as it is empty.
Can extreme heat damage the fragrance or the device?
The system and bottles are designed for the usual temperature conditions in a vehicle. Nevertheless, the device should be mounted in accordance with the installation instructions and, if possible, protected from exceptionally strong direct heat.
Is the fragrance released continuously?
No. perfumoto® does not release the fragrance continuously, but at coordinated intervals depending on the selected intensity. This keeps the fragrance experience pleasant and never permanently intrusive.
Can I also use perfumoto® in a truck, van or camper?
Yes. perfumoto® can generally be used in all vehicles with suitable ventilation and a suitable installation location.
Please note, however, that the perceived fragrance intensity may be lower in a particularly large interior than in a normal car.
What happens if I don't like a fragrance?
Everyone perceives fragrances differently. That's why we offer every customer a one-time option to exchange an unsuitable fragrance for another variant.

You bear the costs of returning it to us. We cover the shipping costs for the replacement fragrance.
Is perfumoto® also suitable for people who are sensitive to fragrances?
Thanks to the adjustable intensity, a very subtle release of fragrance is possible. If you or one of your passengers doesn't feel like any fragrance on a particular day, you can switch the system off via the app at any time.
In the case of known allergies or a pronounced sensitivity to fragrances, the respective ingredient information should be checked before use.
How quickly can you smell the fragrance after switching on?
With the system switched on and the vehicle ventilation running, fragrance distribution starts just a few seconds after activation.
How quickly and intensely the fragrance is perceived also depends on the selected intensity, the fan speed, the length of the supply line and the size of the vehicle interior.
