Instead of one light source and a fixed bundle of hundreds of fibres, this ultra version uses separate modular star strands. RGBIC: More than one colour across your headliner
Conventional RGB star headliners usually use one central light source, illuminating all connected fibres together. This limits or prevents different colours and dynamic gradients across the roof.
The
ambitrim® Digital Ultra starry headliner takes a different approach. RGBIC technology and modular construction enable multiple colours and dynamic gradients. Individual points of light become a moving, changing composition across the headliner.
You can, of course, choose a single static colour for a subtle, calm appearance.
Twinkling in colour
Twinkling brings a starry headliner to life. On many conventional systems, the effect is limited to white or single-colour twinkling.
With the
ambitrim® Digital ultra starry headliner, the twinkling itself can be coloured, creating new effects and a more dynamic look. From understated to striking, you decide how your stars appear.
50, 100, 150, 200 or 1,500 stars? You decide.
Conventional kits make you choose a fixed star count at purchase. They often consist of one central light generator and a preassembled bundle of 500, 700 or 1,000 fibres, with no practical provision for later expansion.
The
ambitrim® Digital ultra starry headliner is modular from the outset. Build your configuration in
increments of 50 stars. Each strand has its own light source and connects to the ambitrim® Digital ultra system, so you can choose a much more precise number of stars.
Need more later? Add further 50-star strands. Depending on your existing setup, connect them to available child modules or expand the system with additional modules.

The modular design simplifies both configuration and installation. Conventional systems route hundreds of fibres to one central generator. These fibres are often several metres long and must run from the headliner through or behind the pillars, perhaps all the way to the boot.
The fibres of the
ambitrim® Digital ultra starry headliner are only approximately
100 cm long. Every 50-star strand has a compact dedicated light source, allowing the components to be distributed locally at the headliner.
This takes up less space, avoids unnecessarily long fibre runs and makes for a tidier installation. Place each strand exactly where its stars are needed.

The contents of your
ambitrim® Digital ultra starry headliner depend on your selected number of stars and optional extras.
1× ambitrim® Digital ultra parent module is always included, regardless of the star count.
Choose stars in
increments of 50. For each 50 stars, you receive a separate strand with
50 optical fibres and its own RGBIC light source.
ambitrim® Digital ultra child modules control the light sources. One child module supports at most
6 light sources with 50 fibres each, or 300 stars in total.
Therefore:
1× ambitrim® Digital ultra child module is included for each started block of 300 stars.
Suitable
2-in-1 and 3-in-1 splitters connect the light sources to the child modules. The number and combination of splitters are determined automatically by your selected star count.
All splitters required for your chosen configuration are already included in the package and the displayed price.
Child modules can be positioned discreetly and as centrally as possible above the headliner. From there, distribute the approx. 100 cm fibre strands to the intended areas.
Light-source allocation per child module:
- 50 stars / 1 light source: direct connection, no splitter needed
- 100 stars / 2 light sources: 1× 2-in-1 splitter
- 150 stars / 3 light sources: 1× 3-in-1 splitter
- 200 stars / 4 light sources: 3× 2-in-1 splitters
- 250 stars / 5 light sources: 2× 2-in-1 splitters + 1× 3-in-1 splitter
- 300 stars / 6 light sources: 1× 2-in-1 splitter + 2× 3-in-1 splitters
Above 300 stars, additional child modules are added automatically and the light sources are distributed among them.

All required strands, RGBIC light sources, control modules and splitters are assembled for your chosen configuration.

Compatibility:
- The starry headliner is part of the ambitrim® Digital ultra system.
- Use only control units, cables, adapters and light sources intended for the ambitrim® ultra system.
- Components from other ambitrim® generations may be used only if explicitly marked compatible.
- Before expanding an existing system, check that sufficient connections and the required modules are available for the additional star strands.
Installation notes:
- Our guides provide installation ideas.
- The system is intended for professional installation in a vehicle headliner and connection to ambitrim® Digital ultra.
- Connecting to vehicle electrics requires specialist knowledge and should be carried out by a qualified person or workshop.
- Before installation, check for sufficient space above the headliner for light sources, modules, wiring and other components.
- For vehicles with airbags, a sunroof, panoramic roof or other roof components, carefully check suitable mounting positions and cable routes beforehand.
- Modules, fibres and cables must not obstruct airbags, their deployment zones or safety-critical vehicle parts.
- Plan the star positions and distribution completely before piercing or modifying the headliner.
- Do not sharply bend, crush or tension optical fibres.
- Place child modules so the approx. 100 cm strands reach their intended areas without undue tension or tight bends.
- IMPORTANT: Before installation, you MUST connect the entire system and test it for proper operation. Check every controller, light source, splitter and star strand before permanently installing anything or modifying the headliner.
- If this test reveals a fault, do not install or process the affected component. Contact us before installation so we can clearly establish the pre-existing defect and agree on the next steps.
- If a fault is first reported after installation, we must determine whether its cause lies in the product or in its wiring or installation. Damage caused by incorrect wiring, wrong voltage, short circuits, crushing, bending, tension or other installation errors is not a product defect.
- To assess a reported fault, individual components or the complete system may need to be removed and returned. Installation does not replace the necessary technical assessment of a claim.
- Statutory rights for defects already present when risk passed to the buyer remain unaffected.
- No more than 6 light sources or 300 stars may be connected to each child module.
- Before installation, all ambitrim® Digital ultra controllers used MUST first be paired with one another as described in the instructions.
Use in the vehicle:
The
ambitrim® Digital ultra starry headliner offers static and dynamic effects. Set colours, brightness and effects so that they do not dazzle, confuse or distract you while driving. Use especially striking or animated effects only when the driving situation permits.
